Crazy.

I almost got hit by a car when I crossed the road recklessly today. Someone remarked that I was crazy. Perhaps I am. What if crazy is the term that people give to those who absolutely doesn’t give a fuck about anything at all really.

Crazy is when you try to reason with people in your own logic and they refuse to accept your reasoning so you give extreme ultimatums to achieve your goal. Crazy is when you killed someone because you don’t give a fuck about the consequences. Crazy is refusing to abide the rules that others seem to follow.

When I was a child, I repeatedly heard mother say, “He’s crazy” whenever she is in an argument with father. No one cooked dinner? Knock down the fucking door and insist that she cooks dinner. Did not greet him in the morning? Shout at their fucking faces and make them realize their mistake. Crazy huh. It came to a point that whatever my father did something which was distasteful in my opinion, I reasoned with myself that it was because he is crazy. Period.

What if…crazy is just in the eyes of the victim and it is absolutely normal in the eyes of the perpetrator? He just didn’t give a fuck. He doesn’t care if his actions is not how issues should normally be resolved. He handled the situation in his own way. As awful as it sounds, sometimes crazy people resolve solutions much more effectively. Did he get his goal when he did that supposed “crazy” action? He did. Was it normally how we would have done it? Absolutely not. Was he wrong? Perhaps yes in our minds but that’s perfectly fine with him because he got what he wanted.

If he understood that what he was doing is not normal and decides to correct his approach, he probably would be less crazy in our eyes. He refuses. Is that how people become less crazy? Well, I’m a pretty stubborn individual so I see how we are alike in this way. Sometimes, you need to be crazy to achieve a different result. Clearly, parenting aspect is highly not recommended. In other aspects of life though, take the risk, be the crazy one and things might actually not be as bad as you perceive it might be.

I suppose we are all but in different levels of crazy. What do you think?
