Hamster.

Today, I received a call informing me that S hearing will be pushed forward by a day to tomorrow instead. We finally got a chance to meet and talk to him for a bit (15mins).

Well, he’s been eating and sleeping well. So that’s good news.

Food portions are huge and he couldn’t finish the food sometimes. Told us that there is literally nothing to do in there. Not even books. Whut?! Then again it’s understandable.

He told us that he asked the policeman to try a take a mug shot of him that doesn’t look like sht. HAHAHA

Described his holding cell to us and my god, he doesn’t even have a bed. Only 2 blankets. What. He shared that the water was really cold and he didn’t bother bathing. Just washed his face is all. Asked if he got lights out in there and was rudely shocked that the lights stays on 24/7?!?! Oh and they are apparently really bright, the lights. Christ.

Mother asked if they gave him a razor to shave. Apparently not. No mirrors either. He looks like a fugitive LOL. Oh, that’s when the policeman casually informed S that he can request for a razor.

Noticed he’s not wearing his glasses and he informed us that it got slapped off him during the incident so he doesn’t have them anymore.

Either way, he says he does get some interaction time with his investigation officer which is pretty nice. Else he’d be bored out of his mind. Tbh the team working on his case are really nice people. That, I am thankful for.

Understandably, he said he didn’t want to be at the funeral because it would seem very hypocritical. Anyhow, I told him about the sea burial and how we took a little boat to the middle of the ocean and chucked dear old dad at the bottom of the ocean(:

Mother told him to stop thinking too much and let us settle the case. He thinks he’ll be jailed for 20 years. Sigh. Mother kept asking him to stay strong throughout the meeting. He didn’t want to be a burden (as usual) so obviously I told him not to do any of that “pretending to be crazy” sht just to be a hero. It’s a team effort after all, the team working on that case will gather all the statements and come to a consensus.

S: “I didn’t expect this to happen”

Me: “Me neither”

Mother: “Nor me”

The police told us that he will be remanded for another 3 weeks at Changi for psychiatric evaluation and we shall see what happens.

On a completely random note, Mother asked S if he knows what it’s like in Changi and he was like, “How would I know Mum???” “It’s his first time” I chimed in. DED
Asked if he will have to mingle with any gangsters during his stint in Changi but they said he will probably be in isolation. Phew. Ngl he will get attacked.

Mother says we’ll go make him a new pair of glasses tomorrow because he will get more “entertainment” when he’s in Changi. I hope they at least have books there to read though.

I’m so glad I was on leave and made it to meet him today. Couldn’t touch him but we had a pretty good talk. Just gonna be hopeful and wait I guess.

Supposed to be on my flight to Aussie tonight and well, I guess life has other plans for me. Challenge accepted. Like L said, if we can survive dear old dad, we can survive anything.

P.S L wasn’t there because he was in camp. I relayed his message to S though. “L says Hi”. He laughed.

Yep. Mine’s not your normal family I suppose.

Now we wait.
