Went on an impromptu trip to Ipoh after rushing to close one of my baking orders. Why Ipoh? Well, it’s Mr Q’s hometown so I couldn’t turn down a free tour right? Kidding, I could but might as well since he pretty much funded the entire trip (I KNOW).
Here goes a short 4D3N trip to Ipoh, Perak for the NYE countdown. P.S the fireworks were literally right at our hotel lobby!!! We went tufting (making a carpet), massage, salon, facial treatment, hiking and nom nom nom every day. It was supposed to be a chill trip but he was so stressed out trying to impress me with the things there LOL. Either way, I had an amazing time ngl.
Little did I know, Ipoh is actually a quaint little town surrounded by mountains.
It’s almost like JB but it’s definitely more well developed in terms of the construction and buildings everywhere. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still all low-rise shophouses and residential landed houses but the roads and everything were very well maintained and it impressed me quite a bit. Oh, I’m so impressed that literally everyone there speaks Cantonese? I mean I’m Hokkien but I think I might have picked up a bit of Canto during my short stint there ngl. Q speaks Cantonese fluently so half the time I’m just nodding away pretending to understand what he is talking about HAHAHA
Day 1 (Massage, Tufting @ Art BNB workshop)
Day 2 (Concubine Alley, Perak Temple, Waterfall)
Walked around the Concubine Alley and made a trip to Perak Temple. It was an tedious hike up the hill largely due to the flights of stairs but I managed to survive. The view was…alright I guess, mostly factories not much. It was good cardio though. We also checked out a mini waterfall at the entrance and wanted to take a boat ride into the abyss but unfortunately it was raining so we went back instead.

Day 3 (Salon, Facial, Plants viewing :p)
Another chill day at the salon and had a facial which was pretty refreshing. Oh, we also checked out a nursery FOR PLANTS. Of which I spotted a rocking horse so I couldn’t help myself hehe
Day 4 (Home)
Ahh, we counted down for New Years with fireworks right outside our hotel right before midnight. The very next morning, we hopped onto a flight home. Overall, a short yet fun filled trip mainly cause of the tufting though.
Until the next,
D
