Island Bound | Krabi

Here’s a review of my Krabi trip last December for 4D3N (I know I know, December is time for snowy places bla bla bla but hey, it was a reckless-exam-stress-decision so YOLO)

First up, Krabi was mentioned by my girls before and I thought it was a good idea to check it out since Bali was Aaamazingballzzz 😀 SOO…krabi is an island somewhere in thailandand its pretty near Phuket (my next destination in the future^^) and honestly I just wanted a place to chill by the sea and ya know drink some pineapple juice, aka relieve some Bali moments(:

But little did I know what I signed up for was SO.MUCH.BETTER. This is how it went; I went to book accommodations in Krabi and I ended up staying in Railey Princess Resort and Spa. Well…because it says “Princess” so it hit a soft spot there :X

I called up the resort to provide airport transfer so after our 2.5 hr flight, we were greeted with the staff at the airport holding ma name yo “Miss Denis” siol. But fun fact, the airport transfer wasn’t cheap it cost s about 1200 baht which was about 50 SGD>.<  Pretty expensive but hey, we traveled in style LOL The staff fetched us with a 8-seater VAN. WOW. All this for er 2 people. Wew.

After about a 20min drive, he dropped us off at an secluded village area. I was flabbergasted. After hastily checking my GPS, it says Railey Princess Resort is nearby but absolutely NOT here. Jesus Christ it was like a fishing village…. Thankfully the staff told us to wait in an air-conditioned room and we did.

10mins later, he came and told us the boat has arrived. “Boat?” Yes. Boat. Railey Princess Resort and Spa and a couple of Railey Resorts reside ON AN ISLAND.  Imagine that. We boarded the long tail boat and took a 15min ride to the island. Yes, with my luggage on it. Epic I know.

Upon arrival, I was pretty impressed by the customer service at the resort. Despite being only a 3-star hotel, their rooms are coupled with a scenic view of the mountains and there is a gym, 2 swimming pools, and massage & spa services as well. Not bad at all.packed and started exploring this serene little island. Well, despite being so small, it has abundant of beaches EVERYWHERE. There is North Railey, East Railey and West Railey. The pictures can speak for themselves(:

The next few day were beach hopping as well as a sunset tour we signed up for at the stall set up along the streets in Krabi. Yes they are trust able and no, they did not cheat out money.

The sunset tour should be renamed the snorkeling tour plainly because we were snorkeling EVERYWHERE. Chicken Island, Tortoise Island, James Bond Island… well you know the rest of the story. Jesus Christ I could have died but it was preeetty fun ._. *distraught face*

Btw do try these super tasty pancakes Thailand are famous for; someone is a fan…he took a pic with the stall owned with a cute hairstyle -.-

On the last day we caught the prettiest sunrise EVER (YES I MOVED MY ASS UP FOR THIS; jk my flight back was at 11am). Right in front of the jetty, the sun rose. As each second passed, you could distinctly see the movement of the sun as it rose up into the sky. Damn, it was good.

Overall, I would recommend Krabi for families and friends which are looking for a simple place to chill and relax because as compared to Phuket and Bali, Krabi lacked many of the water activities such as parasailing, banana boat etc but it encompasses incredible sunrise and sunsets that you should see at least once in your lifetime because trust me, it is unforgettable(: Not only that, its pretty cheap and affordable too(: It costs me about $800++ per pax inclusive of air tickets and accommodations so do check it out if you are thinking of planning a short getaway this summer even(:
