Have you ever wondered why people have children?

Why have them when you can’t even support yourself? Is it a form a suffering for them in that sense?

Today, it dawned on me that people have children because…it’s “that” point in life. Well, getting married is another “point” in life as well.

I suppose it doesn’t make much sense now since it never dawned on me to get married or have kids. One can talk about it to seem normal like the rest of us are but honestly, I’m amazed at people who make their children their entire life. Well family, at least.

It came across to me that humans are selfish because they care only for their own. Just like the instinct of any wildlife animal, it’s their utmost priority to protect their own. What happens to the other preys pales in comparison to that priority. Funny but, if we draw parallels to that, humans work the same way. They only care about their own children and sometimes disregard others in the midst of doing so. It is possible that some parents do look out for others’ kids but…it very much isn’t so from what I see.

Maybe, just maybe, the selfishness just multiplies and welcome to the world we live in today. So when I see people with children, I wonder what was going through their mind when they made that decision. Let’s just hope a lack of contraceptives isn’t the answer but that is besides the point.

Children are shadows you impose yourself on.  You want them to BE you or even better. That’s what parents do. But hey, leave that poor kid alone, if he wants to be a farmer, be a farmer, cause this is world we live in, People judge but you go run your own race and wish other well. Which boils down to the reason why children exist. What is their meaning in life? Why do they exist? What in this for them?

I mean they don’t really have a choice about this but well it’s just mind boggling. Well, maybe they want to leave a legacy aka their kids but…that’s already an expectation you set for them. Ok how about they just want to have children for the sake of idk… taking care of them when they are old? Idk man. It’s fucked up  and maybe I’ll find the answer someday.

To round this up, I read somewhere that “Everyone has their own race to run, so run your own race and wish others well”. That’s pretty true but sadly, not many understand this. Maybe that’s why children or even humans are always competing against each other…to what end?  Oh wells. That’s another story for another day(:
