On the eve of my birthday, YJ decided to celebrate my birthday with a stay cation at Marina Bay Sands wew! Yup, it was my first time there and it was pretty amazing. We lazed around a bit and went out for some scrumptious dinner at “Dancing Crab”.
Dining at Dancing Crab was definitely one of a kind, I legit felt like a savage where they served my food by tossing my food on the table and asking me to “enjoy my meal”. It seems odd at first but when you look around, you realize everyone else is doing the same thing- eating their food on the table with their hands. In an environment where everyone else is doing the same thing, it becomes “ok” for you to eat the food (crab especially) with your hands and show probably the most unglam side of you eating seafood. Interestingly enough, it was as though you are at home eating seafood, eating with your hands. That’s probably the concept that the restaurant was trying to create(: I find it fascinating when well-dressed ladies started getting “hands-on” with their food and it damages their images entirely but they still do so anyway. Cause’ why not?
I couldn’t stay out too late because I had school the next day so we went back to the hotel early. When the clock struck 12, we celebrated my birthday with a cake and I honestly was too tired so I fell asleep. I had school the next day and work till 9.30pm so I barely had time to celebrate my birthday at all. I mean it just another day but it’s pretty say I must say. Mum texted me asking for a meal together that day but I’m only free after 9.30pm so we settled for supper with the family instead. Wanted to have supper at Chomps but its fcking closed on a Monday. WTF. Went to eat at Wimbly Lu instead and had some quality family bonding time I suppose.
Even though I received birthday wishes, it just feels like just another day to me. But well, I glad I got to spend it with my family and treated myself to a getaway trip to Phuket either way(:
